Infinite numbers, endless calculations.

Hi everyone,

Today I'm sharing an activity to work on the use of numbers and daily routines for A2 students. I used the opening scene from Stranger than fiction, where we become acquainted with Harold Crick's routine.

I hope you find it useful.

Here's the scene:

Here's the worksheet.

Stay tuned,
Claudio

  1. Hi Claudio! I love this movie, and especially this scene.
Love your idea, thanks for the worksheet!
I've been using this same scene for some time, to practice simple present and routine verbs, and the way I usually do (which works pretty well) is like this:
I pair up students, one with their back to the tv and the other facing his partner (this one can see the tv).
The one who can see the screen will describe Harold's actions to his partner, who will take notes. I play first without sound, and after I pause (when Harold goes to bed) they can check the sentences with their partner and correct eventual mistakes.
I elicit the actions, write them on the board making sure they didn't forget "s" for the verb, and finally play the scene again with sound.
It's really fun and helps them remember the third person singular rule.
    Just another idea.
